In 2009 we are revamping the Ottawa Royals Spring Training Program. This year we are organizing a Royals Spring Camp for May 2nd, 3rd and May 9th, 10th which will be run at Carleton University with Keith Harris Stadium as the primary venue. The details for the camps are under development but the is to run a team oriented program where each team will participate in a 2-day Spring Camp on either of the 2 weekends. This will be offerred for all youth teams from U9 thru U18 and will be adjusted by age group and level. Team coaches will attend with their players. The coaching staff will include Sanjeev Parmar of Parmar Sports Training, Fred Juett, our Technical Director, as well as a number of our Club Coaches and guest coaches.

Final details are still being worked on but the plan for the weekend program includes:

Classroom training sessions on tactics, set plays, conduct, fitness, nutrition, etc as appropriate.
2 on-field training sessions per day. (4 sessions for the weekend)
Cafeteria for lunch and supper ****
Swim at Carleton University Pool
Team Building activities (Competitions, games, etc)
Residence stay on Saturday night at Carleton ****

***** Use of cafeteria and residence is still under negotiation and may involve an additional charge over the Spring Training fee.   Residence stay is planned to be an option from U12 and up but has to be confirmed with Carleton University.
