Winter Development Program OverviewThe Ottawa Royals Soccer Club will once again be offering the Youth Winter Development Program for Boys and Girls. The program will be 20 weeks in duration and will start in early November and continue through March. The program will be run by the club Technical Director, Fred Juett, and will cover individual skills development including dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, attacking and shielding the ball. In addition, it will include some team tactics regarding systems, defensive tactics, offensive tactics and set pieces. Each session will consist of a warm-up and one half to two thirds of the time allocated to the technical or tactical topic and one half to one third on game play to reinforce the areas covered. Coaches for the program will include top coaches from the club as well as top quality guest coaches. All competitive Royals players are encouraged to participate. Age GroupsThe club reserves the right to combine age groups if we are short players in one area and have too many players in another. FeesThe program is offered at a cost of $150 per player for the turf sessions (Ben Franklin Dome) and $100 per player for the gym sessions (Glebe and Pius).
